Huwei Railway Bridge

Description

As a designated historical remnant of Yunlin County, it was built by Dai-Nippon Sugar Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in 1931 in response to the change of Huwei River course, which threatened the transportation of the original wooden sugar railway bridge and lessen the transportation human cost.

It was rebuilt into the current joist steel bridge that can run both sugar trains and common trains. After its rebuild, sugar trains carrying sugar cane can be often seen running on Huwei Railway Bridge streaming into Huwei Sugar Factory, thus hastening the local industrial development of Huwei. This is the most representing attraction of Huwei.
