Development Project of the Industrial Area Sough of Shashe River - Construction Safety Golden Award

In 2024, TSC’s Pingtung Operation Branch was honored with the Construction Safety Golden Award-Excellence Award in Public Construction Category the highest honor of construction occupational safety and health with its “Development project of the industrial area south of Shashe Creek”. This project is the first large-scale public engineering project developed by Taiwan Sugar Corporation in an industrial area. It is developed in the sugarcane bagasse drying area of the pulp mill on the south side of the former Pingtung Sugar Factory. The area is about 23.82 hectares. It is named after the Shashe River because it is located south of the factory.

Since the commence of construction of the industrial zone in June, 2023, the team members have worked hard to fulfill the promise of early completion. The north side of the industrial zone is the most beautiful county park in Pingtung, so the county government also has high standards for environmental quality. Under the difficult conditions of limited time, funds, experience and personnel, the engineering team still lived up to expectations and stood out from many units, winning honors for the company and achieving a new milestone for Taiwan Sugar Corporation.

The current development project was completed in early June and has now entered the final inspection and acceptance stage. With over one-fourth of the land successfully leased and factory construction already underway, investment promotion efforts are being intensified to attract additional tenants for land leasing and facility establishment, aiming to further stimulate sustainable economic development in the Pingtung region.
