Net Zero Transition Strategy

TSC stays close and follows the 2050 Net Zero Policy, and has implemented GHG inventory and identified the internal units with large carbon emission volumes. Among them, the main carbon emitters are the Livestock Business Division and the Sugar Business Division, and are therefore prioritized as the targets for carbon reduction and energy conservation improvement. Since the transformation involves major capital expenditures and long-term business directions for the company, we are concurrently assessing our agricultural strengths and biological resources while closely monitoring the evolution of relevant regulatory frameworks. In light of the immature state of many enabling technologies, verification standards, and business models, we engage Taiwan Sugar Research Institute (TSRI) to assess the feasibility of implementing various emerging carbon reduction technologies. Five strategic pathways have been outlined so far, including energy conversion, improving equipment efficiency, renewable energy, negative emission technology, and charging piles.
