Between 2022 and 2025, TSC implemented
improvements targeting the company's main sources of high carbon emissions,
upgrading the oil-fired boilers at the Dalin Biotech Plan and Xiaogang Plant to
natural gas. Meanwhile, the orchid greenhouse oil-fired boiler was gradually
converted to heat pump heating, reducing fossil fuel emissions through the
electrification of process equipment.

Taiwan Sugar Corporation is committed to environmental
sustainability and actively promotes its net-zero emissions plan. Starting in
mid-March 2022, the Xiaogang Plant boiler was converted to use natural gas
instead of low-sulfur fuel oil. According to statistics, GHG emissions in 2025
totaled 58,631.8966 metric tons of CO2e, a reduction of 4,777.6267
metric tons of CO2e compared to 2024. TSC will continue to improve
its processes and optimize its equipment to contribute to achieving Taiwan's
Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050.
Based on
the operational performance statistics for 2025, overall GHG emissions
decreased by 7.53%. Significant results were also achieved in the control of
air pollutants. The concentration of sulfur oxide emissions reduced to 0 ppm
and that of nitrogen oxide emissions reduced by more than 15%, and the
emissions have been reduced by more than 25% compared to the previous year,
demonstrating excellent environmental benefits.
