Inheriting the
profound humanistic organizational tradition of Taiwan Sugar Corporation, the
Pingtung District Office upholds the core philosophy of
"people-oriented" and has long been committed to building a
systematic, institutionalized, and sustainable health management model. In
recent years, it has demonstrated concrete and quantifiable results in areas
such as creating a friendly and supportive environment, promoting
health-promoting behaviors, preventing chronic diseases, and providing mental
health support. Verified by multiple indicators, it has proven to be a highly
exemplary institution and was awarded the national "Benchmark Award for
Health-Promoting Workplace - Gold Award" in 2025. This recognition not
only affirms its past efforts but also symbolizes a significant milestone for
TSC in its journey towards a sustainable and healthy workplace.
In terms of governance and systems, the
leadership demonstrated a strong commitment to integrating health promotion
into the core of organizational governance. Through cross-departmental
collaboration mechanisms, departments such as human resources, occupational
safety and health, general affairs, and medical care jointly plan and implement
relevant policies to ensure the effective implementation of all measures. We
exceed regulatory requirements by employing dedicated health service personnel
to provide employees with timely, professional, and continuous health
management and consultation services. Simultaneously, a friendly and supportive
work environment was actively created, including green and comfortable office
spaces, easily accessible sports facilities (such as basketball courts,
badminton courts, and gyms), and well-equipped breastfeeding rooms,
comprehensively fostering an atmosphere that balances work and life quality in
the workplace.
As for
health outcomes, clear improvements have been demonstrated through systematic
intervention and activity design. For example, in the "Healthy Body Weight
Challenge", 27.5% of participating employees lost more than 5% of their
weight, leading to a decrease in the overall overweight and obese rate from
70.6% in 2024 to 63.6% in 2025. Regarding the prevention of metabolic syndrome
and cardiovascular disease, the abnormal rates of risk factors such as blood
pressure, waist circumference, and triglycerides have all shown a downward
trend. The proportion of high-risk cardiovascular individuals decreased from
42% to 40.2%, and the proportion requiring follow-up doctor consultations also
decreased by 5.97%, indicating that health management measures have gradually
achieved substantial benefits. In terms of mental health, the program
incorporates an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), regularly conducting stress
assessments and follow-up care, and offering diverse stress-relief courses such
as singing bowl yoga and art therapy to strengthen employees' self-awareness
and emotional regulation skills to promote holistic health and well-being.
This Gold Award is the highest recognition of
TSC's Pingtung District Office's investment in the "people"
dimension. Moving forward, TSC will continue to deepen its systems, track data,
and provide humanistic care, allowing the seeds of health to naturally sprout
in daily work and become a sustainable driving force for the Company's steady
progress.
