TSC Wins Triple Honors at ESG for Culture Impact Awards

Taiwan Sugar Corporation has long been committed to cultural preservation, local co-creation, and sustainable development. In 2025, it was honored with three awards at the 1st "ESG for Culture Impact Awards" organized by the Ministry of Culture and Taiwan Creative Content Agency, including the "Resource Assistance Award", the "Industry Promotion Award", and the "Long-Term Partnership Award". TSC was the company with the most awards among the state-owned enterprises of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the year, demonstrating the company's comprehensive achievements in cultural sustainability.

Among them, the "Resource Assistance Award" recognizes the significant achievements of Taiwan Sugar Corporation in the cultural content industry. In recent years, TSC has invested over NT$16.77 million to promote eight projects with social and cultural impact, including the Taisugar Carbon Sink Education Center, Cultural Trail at Yuemei Sugar Factory, Hongyi Outdoor Art Exhibition, Suzuki Fujisaburo Special Exhibition at Qiaotou Sugar Factory, Chiayi Candy Festival, public art installations, Let’s Taisugar Trip Passport, and the "Owl Universe" RPG reality puzzle game. These projects integrated education, art, environmental protection, and local revitalization, revitalizing the cultural assets of the sugar industry and demonstrating the company's commitment to local communities and its specific actions in practicing ESG.

The "Industry Promotion Award" recognizes the innovative achievements of the "Taisugar Carbon Sink Education Center" at the Qiaotou Sugar Refinery. Since 1987, TSC has been promoting afforestation on flat land, accumulating approximately 11,358 hectares to date. In response to the national net-zero policy, TSC transformed the old space at the Qiaotou Sugar Refinery into an education center in 2024, creating the public art piece "Carbon Beast'" using recycled wood. Through picture books, interactive experiences, and DIY courses, the art guides the public to understand carbon sinks and the circular economy from a cultural perspective, attracting tens of thousands of visitors and successfully combining cultural preservation, environmental education and industrial benefits.

The winning of these three awards this time demonstrates TSC's long-term achievements in cultural ESG and showcases the influence that state-owned enterprises can exert in cultural governance. In the future, TSC will continue to use sugar industry culture as a bridge to work hand in hand with local and community cultural industries.
