In response
to the aforementioned legal spirit and to further foster a diverse, inclusive,
and family-friendly workplace culture that enables employees to balance family
care responsibilities with career development, the Company has implemented the "Taiwan
Sugar Corporation Work Hour Reduction for Parental Childcare Without Salary
Reduction Program for Employees" on February 25, 2022. This program offers
benefits superior to those stipulated in the Gender Equality in Employment Act.
Any TSC employee with a child under 3 years old may apply to reduce their
working hours by one hour per day. The reduced hour will be paid in full, and
will not affect their attendance bonus, performance evaluation, or other
adverse disciplinary actions. This program has been implemented since March 1,
2022, to support employees' childcare needs, improve retention rates, and
enhance overall job satisfaction.
To further
address the ongoing care needs of employees at different stages of their
children's development, the Company expanded its scope of application starting
September 1, 2024, to pilot a measure allowing employees with children aged 3
to under 6 to apply for a one-hour reduction in their daily working hours
(unpaid). Between 2022 and 2025, a total of 503 employees applied for the
childcare working hour reduction, both paid and unpaid, with the number
increasing year by year, showing the high level of employee acceptance and
practical application of the measure.
In
addition, the Company continuously enhances and optimizes its facilities and
employee benefit measures, including the provision of breastfeeding rooms that
take into account the needs of safety, comfort and privacy. The Company also
collaborates with childcare institutions to provide employees with more
convenient and reliable childcare resources, so as to reduce the burden of
childcare for employees and fully implement the business philosophy of
family-friendly and sustainable development.
